For the second year in a row, C.J. Bird, team captain of Bird’s Pit Crew of Fresno, Calif., smoked the competition winning the Pork Rib Category. Then he and his crew went on to win Beef Rib Category. Sweeping both contests, the Pit Crew was awarded $2,000 in cash at the 7th annual Rib Cook-off at the California Antique Farm Equipment Show, April 16-18, 2010.
Bird and his Pit crew have been entering competitive cooking contests for the last two years with success. Now they are considering cooking their award-winning recipes for the public.
“We are very excited to win both categories,” Bird said. “The prize money will help us purchase an additional smoker so we can open our catering business.”

We enjoy being on top!”
The 2011 California Antique Farm Equipment Show is scheduled for April 15-17, 2011. Featuring Holt, Best and Cat, it is promising to be another terrific show.
