Chairman's Message

TEMP-FLOAT-RIGHT

On behalf of the volunteers and staff of the 17th annual California Antique Farm Equipment Show, I welcome you.

When our gates open this year, we offer you an opportunity to step back in time to see actual equipment used to produce food and fiber products from the late-19th and first half of the 20th centuries. I invite you to enjoy the entertainment, visit the displays, participate in the demonstrations and watch the antique farm equipment parade and pulls.

The show provides daily entertainment for the entire family—from our Pedal Tractor Pull for children to the Antique Tractor Parade and Pull for antique tractor enthusiasts. Other entertainment includes Kids Edition, Tulare Karate and Kung Fu, Square 8’s and line and couple’s dancing.

On Saturday evening, we are pleased to have Jerry D. Hobbs and the Country Rhythm Makers as headliners on stage at the Steak Barbecue. This three-member group received a nomination from the Academy of Country Music in 2008 as the top new Vocal Group. You’ll want to be there when they perform their hits live at the Antique Show dinner.

Another highlight of the show is the drawing to win a fully restored 1948 Allis Chalmers tractor. The winner will be chosen during the Steak Barbecue Dinner Saturday. Guests can enter to win at the show for $1; proceeds of the drawing benefit the Agri-Center's Antique Farm Equipment Museum.

Before you leave, make sure you get a dessert from Dolly’s Kitchen—perhaps a freshly baked peach cobbler with homemade ice cream.

Enjoy the show,

Diane Mathis
